
Afterschool Program
We know that children who consistently participate in after-school programs are more likely to become physically and emotionally healthy adults, involved in a variety of caring relationships, self-sufficient and independent, and actively engaged in society.
Our structured age specific program features numerous activities that promote health, team building, problem solving to build your child’s social skills. The staff meet grades K-3 at Gander Academy.

Lunch Bunch Program
Join us for Lunch – This program is open to all members at a cost of $1.00 / day. The staff meet grades K-3 at Gander Academy

- Members are required to provide their own lunch (we have microwaves and a fridge for everyone’s use)

Preteen Program
For Grades 4-6, once a week from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Wednesdays). Recreation, nutrition, friendship and more. If you would like more information please call 256-7803.

SCHOOL CLOSURES – NO WORRIES Day camps are offered to members for PD Days, Report Card Days, Snow Closures, Holiday Closures, Kindergarten Closures (For Kinderstart).

- Half Day camps $15.00/day from 12:00 am to 6:00 pm, $25 Non Members

CareerLaunch
CareerLaunch is a pre-employment program that gives youth an opportunity to develop vital pre-employment skills, access job hunting resources, discover how to align their interests with a future career, and explore a range of career options.

Jays Care
Rookie League is a safe, fun, active, and engaging baseball program for children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in recreational or organized sport. In addition to providing youth employment opportunities and training coaches, the program uses baseball as a foundation to teach children the importance of team work, cooperation, and self-esteem.

Kid Food Nation
Kid Food Nation is a national initiative that helps kids and families develop food skills through hands-on experiences related to planning, preparing, and cooking. The program also features an online hub with resources for healthy eating and meal preparation, and a national recipe competition that encourages kids to put their food literacy skills into practice and submit original, healthy, and nutritious recipes. Our Kid Food Nation online hub was created by Corus Entertainment, and our program is developed through collaboration with Dietitians of Canada.

Skilled4Success
Skilled4Success teaches young Canadians about the skilled trades, provincially-regulated apprenticeship programs, and career planning. Whether through job skills training, networking opportunities with skilled trades professionals, or job-shadowing, S4S – Skilled Trades provides information—and challenges misconceptions—about the skilled trades and encourages youth to consider them as a viable option for a future career choice.

Summer Brain Gain
To counter learning loss during the summer months, Summer Brain Gain provide opportunities for Club members to practice reading and mathematics skills on a daily basis, with a focus on two key outcomes: educational activities that look and feel different from the regular school day, and high levels of youth engagement and motivation.

Tennis Program 2018
Designed for kids with no previous tennis experience, the Tennis League program focuses on learning tennis through play, rather than the traditional lesson-based model. Using modified tennis balls, racquets, nets, and courts that can be used in non-traditional facilities, young players learn the fundamentals of the game early on.

Lead Up
Lead UP provides youth with opportunities to engage in service initiatives that will address community needs, encouraging them to develop life and work skills, self-confidence, and self-efficacy, while discovering new opportunities. Currently piloting at 5 Clubs, the program engages under-represented youth in meaningful service and promotes youth civic engagement.

Get in the Game
Jumpstart Get in the Game is a program that aims to remove the financial barriers keeping many kids from participating in organized sports and physical activities. The program provides young people with year-round access to sports outside of school, promoting the benefits of sport instruction, skill development, and improved physical fitness.

Basic Needs, Brighter Future
The Basic Needs, Brighter Future program provides young people with resources to enhance and expand their access to food, education relating to food, and the development of healthy habits and life skills. Grants allow Clubs to feed more young people and their families, promote the importance of healthy habits, and educate Club staff and members.
